Volunteering Requirements

All volunteers for the tournament are required to register in the FIRST Volunteer Management System (VMS). Registering requires a FIRST Inspires account; parents, mentors, high school students, or other volunteers with existing FIRST accounts can use their existing accounts to volunteer. For more information and directions for registration, please visit the Volunteer Registration Directions linked below.

Once registration has been completed, volunteers over the age of 18 must pass a background check as part of the FIRST Youth Protection Policy (YPP). You will see a link to begin the background check process once you have completed registration. While there is a suggested donation to help cover the costs of the background check, you may check a box to opt-out and are not required to pay anything. The background check usually takes 24-48 hours to clear, after which you will be assigned to a position by Geoff or Carol. You will receive an email from donotreply confirming your assignment, and you will be contacted personally by Geoff or Carol if they have additional questions.

Volunteers registering to be judges must complete online training from FIRST. Click the link below for directions on how to access those.
